New Rules for the Boathouse

The Board has instituted the following rules to apply to use of the boathouse in response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The Club received permission from Tompkins County to put docks in and open to solo scullers on 5/16/2020. 

1. Only privately owned singles, and Club singles for members who have passed a Captain's test, are allowed out at this time (as of 5/27/2020

2.  All scullers rowing out of our boathouse must log their rows 

• Please bring your own pen to sign in and out. If you forget, you can disinfect the pen that is there.  
• At this time, we are not limiting the number of signups in any given time period or requiring signups for specific slots in advance, but we reserve the right to do so if crowding becomes an issue. 

3.  Due to the risks presented by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Board is instituting the following new rules for use of the boathouse, effective on Saturday 5/16: 

• There will be hand sanitizer (75% alcohol) available on or near the windowsill in the sculling bay. Please use it upon arrival and after touching any "high touch" surfaces like doors and slings.
• There will be two spray bottles of 10:1 water/bleach solution (this is the ratio recommended by concept2 for disinfecting grips) in the sculling bay - one by the Club oars and one by the private oars, each accompanied by a roll of paper towels. Please use it to clean your oar handles after each use.  
• The bathroom is currently closed. we do not expect it to be open anytime soon. Plan accordingly. 
• Do not, under any circumstances, come to the boathouse if you feel ill or are experiencing any symptoms of illness, especially these symptoms: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/symptoms-testing/symptoms.html. 
• A cloth mask or equivalent face covering must be worn AT ALL TIMES when not on the water. 
• Avoid bringing personal belongings into the boathouse (with the exception of your keys, a pen, and a towel - see below). If it is not going in your boat with you, leave it in your car. 
• Bring your own towel to wipe off your single and take your towel home with you. The towel will be an exception to the personal item in the boathouse policy, and you may leave it on or near your assigned rack while you are rowing.   
• Maintain at least 6 feet of distance between yourself and others at all times. That means one person in the bay at a time, one person at the slings at a time (we will have one set of slings out for boat cleaning and another set out for "waiting for the dock" and will wipe them down daily), one person at the bike racks at a time, and one person on the dock at a time. Be efficient and plan enough time to allow for delays. 
• Our plan is to have both the connect-a-dock and the bubble dock installed soon. Once they are both in, the connect-a-dock will be the "launching" dock and the bubble dock will be the "landing" dock, and the rule will change to "one person on each dock at a time." Landing on the connect-a-dock will be allowed if no one else is there, but please use caution and situational awareness to avoid sharing spaces.
