Varsity/Competitive Sculling
Our summer program for varsity athletes is focused on sculling. Rowers will spend a lot of time in singles, and will also row in doubles and quads, with the goal of competing at the Canadian Henley Regatta.
**Rowers who wish to compete at the Henley Regatta must attend at least 85% of practices for the summer (no more than 5 absences)***
Who: rowers with at least one season of varsity rowing, entering grades 9-12 in the fall. Graduating seniors may also participate.
Rowers with two seasons of novice but no varsity experience may be able to join if there is space. Please contact the varsity coaches before registering.
Practice Days: Monday - Thursday, 6-8am
Practice Dates: Monday, June 23 - Thursday, July 31
(The first week is during Regents Exams - any practices missed due to exams will not count against the absence limits for Canadian Henley)
Cost: $410
Varsity Summer Extra Days
What: an opportunity for rowers who want to train more intensely to get additional days on the water.
Who: Rowers entering grades 10-12 who have been rowing for at least one full year and had at least one season on Varsity. Rowers who can make a commitment to training 6 days a week and have had minimal absences in past seasons. (9th graders should not sign up for this program without approval of coach)
Practice Days: Fridays 6-8am and Saturdays 8-10am
Season dates: Friday, June 27 - Saturday, August 2 (***No Practice July 4 and 5)
Program Fee: $230
Canadian Henley Regatta
Monday, August 4 - Sunday, August 10
Rowers will compete in 1-3 events, and could span 3 days or the entire week, depending on the events
The regatta fee will be approximately $250 and will include entry fees, coaching, and equipment transport.
Regatta fee does not include hotel/housing and food at the regatta. Food/lodging will need to be arranged/coordinated by parents of rowers who are attending the regatta.
