Volunteers

CBC programs would not be possible without the help of many volunteers.

CBC masters members help with many aspects of the boathouse, including;  maintaining the docks, serving as coaches, helping raise money for the club, and consulting with coaches on races, boats, and training.  Masters rowers fix equipment and help run the sculling programs.  Some masters act as liaisons with the parent volunteers, lending their long term knowledge of how to do things the "CBC way" and experience how other boat clubs run their programs.  Other masters serve on the Board providing leadership.

The juniors or scholastic programs depend on parent volunteers to provide logistical support for rowers off the water.  Parents feed rowers, provide transportation to regattas, and make hotel reservations at away regattas.

Parent volunteers also coordinate fundraisers for CBC.  Rowing is an expensive sport with the large boats costing upwards of $30,000.  Funds are used for scholarships and to purchase equipment such as boats, oars, and launches that allow us to run our programs.

All parents are required to volunteer at two regattas per season.  A sign up sheet is distributed prior to the regatta.
