Varsity Team
A competitive team for athletes who want to train regularly and prepare for competitions
Who: Experienced rowers in 9th-12th grade. (Started rowing Spring 2022 or before)
**rowers in grades 9-12 who started in Summer or Fall 2022 may be moved up on case-by-case basis. Please contact cascadillaboardprez@gmail.com if you are not sure.
Practice times: Monday 4:15-6:15pm, Tuesday- Friday, 6:00am – 8:00am
**There will be practice over April break (April 10-14). Varsity rowers are expected to attend unless they have family commitments. Practice times over break may be moved later in the morning depending on coach availability.
Season dates: Monday, March 27th –Sunday, May 28th
Regattas:
Saturday, May 6th – Section III Regatta @ Syracuse (races start at noon, due to SAT)
Friday - Sunday, May 12th -14th – NY State Championships @ Saratoga (overnight trip. Rowers will stay overnight on either Friday or Saturday night but not both. Depends on schedule and event times)
Saturday & Sunday, May 27th -28th – Pittsford Regatta @ Rochester (events are split over two days, and athletes usually race one day or the other but do not stay overnight)
Other events:
Thursday June 1st – Ithaca Fest Parade (CBC often does a float)
Saturday, June 3rd - Spring Season Banquet @ Stewart Park, Time TBA
Saturday, June 10th - Learn to Row Day– experienced rowers will be asked to help with open house, giving rowing lessons to community members.
Program Fee: $500 (rowers)/$250 (coxswains)
Regatta Fees approx.: $300-400. Actual fees depend on specifics of how many people attend the regatta.
*Fee waivers and half-fee registrations are available. Cascadilla has funds set aside to provide reduced fees with the goal of making rowing available to the Ithaca Community. Please contact cascadillaboardprez@gmail.com for more info
Novice/Modified Team
The novice team still focuses on skills and enjoyment, but also teaches rowers to race and understand the competitive aspects of the sport
Who: All rowers in 7th & 8th grades., both new and experienced.
*9th graders who are either new to rowing, or who started rowing in Summer 2022 or Fall 2022
*Rowers in grades 10-12 who have never rowed on the water.

Pre-season (indoor training at Mall/tanks) –
Dates: Monday February 27th – Friday March 24th
Times: Monday 7:30-9:00pm at Cornell Tanks + Wednesday and Friday 4:15-6:15pm @ Ithaca Mall
*Participants who are playing a winter sport may join in at the completion of their winter sport season
On water season (practice at CBC boathouse)
Season dates: Monday, March 27th –Sunday, May 28th
Practice times: Monday- Friday, 4:30-6:30pm
