Recreational Masters sweeps

“Fourteen years ago, a friend and I took a learn to row class on a whim. Today, rowing has become a significant part of our fitness regime. Nothing is more beautiful than rowing on Cayuga Lake at sunrise." – Jess McGee, Masters Rower
CBC has a group of masters rowers ranging ages 27 to 60+ who row together in team boats 2-3 times per week in the spring, summer, and fall. This group is open to rowers who have completed the learn to row class, experienced rowers, and people looking to get back into rowing after a long hiatus. We attend a few regattas a year, but are primarily focused on increasing fitness and rowing technique.

Summer 2022
  • Tuesday and Thursday mornings, 5:30-7:30am
  • Summer is split into four 3-week sessions (sign up for as many as you'd like!)
  • Designed for individuals who have prior rowing experience
  • Will primarily be in team boats
  • Coached sessions in fours, doubles, and eights if numbers allow to introduce participants to team boat rowing
Register here (select Recreational Masters)

What to bring:
  • Clothing: fitted t-shirt and bike pants or compression shorts/capris.   (Baggy clothing can get caught in the boat.)
  • Socks: you must wear socks or soft-soled reef shoes in boats
  • Sun protection: hat, sunscreen and sunglasses as you will be on the water for approximately 2 hours each session
  • Water bottle: plastic bottle, (not metal water bottles because they can damage the bottom of the boat)
