Learn to Row Registration
CBC offers summer programs to teach adults and youth to row. The sculling programs focus on small boats with each rower using two oars. Sculling programs teach rowers to be independent so they can eventually take a boat out on their own after they pass the captains test. Typically, it takes multiple classes to become independent.
Youth programs focus on sculling skills with some work in sweep boats. Youth who are interested in joining one of the scholastic teams benefit from taking at least one learn to row prior to joining. Swim tests are required and should be completed prior to starting the first day of class (see form below). They can be administered at the YMCA. *Gyms are currently closed due to COVID-19. If you're having trouble getting a swim test, we may be able to help. Please email emrockett@gmail.com if you have trouble getting a swim test and need assistance.
