Elena Novice I wanted to row in high school but could never quite run a mile. When I joined CBC in the summer of '24 and the Master's Racing Team in the Spring of '25, there was no running required! When the call for Novice Coaches was put out, I put my 15 years of experience leading homeschooling classes, activities, and organizations on the line: Can I lead while learning and does anyone really need to run a mile? |
Taylor Modified Taylor’s rowing journey began as a walk-on at Ithaca College before she transferred to Cornell University, where she became a three-year member of the top varsity boat. Following her collegiate career, she spent a decade training and competing with the US National Rowing Team, representing the United States internationally in the Eight and the Pair, and competing nationally in the Double and Single. |

Whether you are seeking high-performance gains or a meditative way to connect with nature at your own pace, Taylor is dedicated to helping you find your own rhythm on the water. |

After 4 years as a coxswain at Duke, she joined the University of Toronto team and competed as a coxswain and a lightweight rower while getting her MA. She moved to Baltimore in 2009 and joined Baltimore Rowing Club as a rower and started coaching for Roland Park Country School. After a hiatus from organized rowing from 2015 to 2019 (had two kids and moved to Ithaca), Marion joined CBC as a varsity girls coach in fall 2019. He began rowing as a walk on at Cornell in the fall of 2000, where he was a 3 year letter winner on the lightweight squad. Post college he was a many time competitor at the Canadian Henley and Head of the Charles Regattas. He also coached and competed for Community Rowing Inc (CRI) in Boston, MA, where he lead the Let's Row Boston outreach team, was lead coach for Adult Sculling, and was an assistant for the nationally-competitive Junior Girls squad. |
Eliza program coordinator Retired attorney (thank you New York, for not allowing an inactive status with the bar), gardener, baker and textile artist. I have been involved with CBC since Fall 2021, first as the parent of a youth rower, then as registrar, wife of a masters rower, and now as program coordinator. I still get to cheer and knit at regattas when my daughter rows with her university team or my husband with the CBC perky masters. While I have taken adult learn to row twice, I'm still more comfortable in a kayak than a shell. |
